Agnes b SS2012 Femme Collection

So my friend had invites to this event and I tagged along. Apart from the huge discount that they offer at the event, we had a chance to see a runway show of the collection. With the main fabric choice of the season being prints and the clothes casual with fun. I am sure the crowd how turned up would not be disappointed with the collection that was showcased.

Overall, the experience was good but the lag of space for the models to walk played a part in the crowd moving about to allow for movement and for all to see the collection. agnes b really brought about a casual spring summer collection which girls should fun to wear.

Thanks to Brendan for the invites.

Dominique Sirop‏

Dominique Sirop's play with texture ensured that the audience's attention was on the collection and nothing else. His main concept was silhouette and the emphasis on the female body contouring. He added volume and enhance to look and ensured that the models maintained elegance throughout the entire presentation.

Anne Valerie Hash

Anne Valerie Hash, the bubbly designer whose main goal at the show seemed to just be have fun and make sure everyone has a great time. Her show was the last show of the day and the hardest, from my point of view, show to get into. We literally were about to go off till we got just enough invites to get in without losing anybody along the way. Being the only female designer in the whole period of WFW, she certainly stood out from the rest.

Her pieces were soft with a twist. She showed you a simple dress but with detailing that made you want to walk alongside the model down the runway just to fully understand the pattern. Then she showed you a suit with such a cutting that makes a woman look smart yet sexy and chic at the same time. Her play with textures also offers much thrill to the mind by making you what you may not expect.

Despite the show ending a little late, there was no one in the crowd who complained about the timing but all that they could comment and compliment on was the stunning collection as well as the designer herself, who came out at the end of the show dancing as she made her way down to the runway to the little girl who handed her the bouquet and danced their way backstage. A;lso, told by  a backstage crew that she was dancing all the while as her collection made it down the runway.

Alexis Mabille‏

Alexis Mabille. Genius. When senatus opened their voting system I knew immediately which show I would not wnat to miss. We only had choice to one and this show would be it. When his couture collection debuted earlier at Couture week in Paris this year, you could see the craftmanship put into the thought process and eventually output of his creation, they were pure genius. With inspirations coming from animals in the wild, his collection included more color compared to the pieces that he showcased at the launch event.

The post-show moments were filled with the audience hugely discussing the collection and flocking over to the area where pieces from his past collection was showcased.

Would like to take the chance to thank Senatus for the invite to this incredible show. Thank You.

Christophe Josse

So Christophe Josse was my second show of the night and my sitting location was not as fantastic as the first but that was soon compensated by the presentation that followed. Although I would just like to say that along with most of the attendees, we were quite disappointed with the relatively short presentation of clothings, which partially could be due to the previous show being a tad bit longer.

Back to the main presentation. The models came out and the first think I asked my neighbour was "they are wearing wigs right?", seeing that the models were all carrying hairdos that would make anyone wishing for a fuller head of hair jealous. As much as that came out as a bimbotic statement, the overall look went well with the dresses which showcased a simple and clean collection, keeping very much to the general style of Christophe.

His designs were mainly evening wear suited for the elegant lady on a fashionistic trail.

Would like to thank Daniel Boey for his invites to the event as well as Erwin for asking me along after my work.

Eymeric Francois

The Eymeric Francois show started off with haunting music playing accompanied by models who opened the show in black couture pieces which progressed to include white, pink and purple elements to it. As far as design goes, Eymeric's pieces bring about a sense of edge again what we may associate with clean elegance when we think about couture; from his risky choice of materials to the structural concept of the dresses itself, it can be seen that much effort has been put into design and creation.

Certain pieces stood out to me, such as this white chiffon-silky blazer studded with black flower embroidery. As well as his closing 2 pieces of full length coat with structured tailoring, bringing about a classic yet somewhat avante garde feel to the overall look.

The show closed to a very much impressed audience who only had good things to say. Eymeric Francois is definitely someone to watch out in the years of haute couture fashion to come.

Coco Rocha for Senhoa

Coco Rocha enlists the support of fellow models, Behati Prinsloo, Iman and Caroline Trentini to front her jewelery line which would be sold on Senhoa.org. This benefits of human trafficking in Cambodia by giving them job opportunities. The black and white concept shot was campaign by Jamie Beck and the print campaign was photographed by Nigel Barker.

All for a good cause! Lets support Coco and friends.

Gareth Pugh for M.A.C

Not much of a makeup guy (as to most guys) but when the collaborator is Gareth Pugh it certaining pulls me away from what I am doing to be interested in what is happening. The Brit designer has certain merged his element into the collection which cream shadows, LipGlass, lipsticks, powder, liners, fake lashes, and a makeup bag.

While the collection would only be out on November 23 in America, we would probably only get it here during December.

Versace for H&M (Men)

Keeping to the general aesthetic of Versace, Donatella Versace has done the fashion house proud with the collaboration. On sales on 17 November, Orchard Road would probably be flooded with people jamming up traffic along the cross section area of H&M just to get their hands on the collection. As much as I would love to own some of the pieces, I don't think I would be queueing with the rest of the horde.

 Love the above jacket. Loveeeee

Ok so the outerwear-obsessed alter-ego is raging within me to get it, I shall venture into H&M once the crowd has simmered down. Highly doubting anything would be left. Which should be the case as well in the other countries where H&M is present. I suppose the situation would be worse in London and Hong Kong.

Long lust..

Christian Louboutin's 2011 rollerball series screams "BUY ME" but with the financial status I am in, the reality is I would not be owning a pair till I've graduated and started working proper for a while. So in the mean time, I would just lust after the pair of shoes and dream of owning a pair. Unless by some form of miracle I would be presented with a pair :p till then Happy Lusting!

Luv Coco Rocha

In the most recent episode of America's Next Top Model Coco Rocha made a guest appearance. LOVE her!!! "Queen of Posing" indeed she lives up to her name.

While I very much support the girls, its not easy to go up against someone of the caliber. Kudos to them. :) Hope to see more inspiring work from Coco Rocha!

Thylane Blondeau

Thylane Blondeau-39.jpg

She looks like some exotic model but seriously I think the industry forces girls to start modelling too young. I mean she's 10! When I was 10 I was some obese kid who didn't have much of a career pathway.

Then again, shes good at what she does apparently and that's what the industry is looking for so... With those cheeky poses and those BRIGHT Blue eyes, she could be the next big thing to look out for.

Givenchy desired...

I know I'm a few seasons lagging on this mention but suddenly I am drawn to this bag. Somehow the "spiced" version of a classic bagpack is calling out to me. Haha! Anyone know where I can still get it?
